Sending mail to users whose password's about to expire

Fellow MVP (and soon-to-be-published author of Essential Exchange Server 2003) Michael Smith has a cool script that will automatically send warning mail to users whose passwords are about to expire. Run it daily, and your mail-only users will never again be able to complain that their passwords expired without prior notice.

They will still complain. They may not have a valid reason for complaining, but some of them will still complain. I run a similar script that warns people at three different intervals before their password actually expires, and I still hear from people who said they didn't know this would happen. Sigh....

I thought pewa was supposed to do this :-)
I never got pewa working satisfactorily so I ended up using a script similar to this. I never had a problem with users complaining, but then getting a "fine" donated to charity if I had to reset their password because they didn't change in time was a good incentive.

You say PEWA didn't work "satisfactorily"-- did it work at all, or did it not do what you expected it to?
